We typically have an Intensive available at a time that works for you within 1 to 3 months as we ensure we are well staffed to offer accessible and flexible sessions. School holidays often book well in advance, so contact us to discuss your availability and secure your spot. 

NDIS’s Short Notice Cancellation policy is 7 days for Plan Managed clients and 2 days for Self Managed clients. The cancellation fee is 100% of the cost of the session. This means children with NDIS need to provide us with the appropriate notice to cancel a physio session including hydrotherapy, AHA sessions, home & school visits etc to avoid a cancellation fee. 

Paediatric Physiotherapy Centre and Moore Intensive Therapy Studio are compliant with all NDIS regulations, this means as of July 1st, 2022, this policy will be in place at our physio clinics. Most of our physiotherapists have been trained in DMI.  For those who haven't undertaken the DMI course, they have been taught the DMI techniques through clinical mentorship. We use this technique as one of many methods in our physiotherapy practice for your child's specific needs. 

DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention) and CME (Cuevas Medak Exercise) are both similar forms of a technique used in therapy to build a child's balance, strength and motor planning. The difference between DMI and CME is that they are taught by different groups of individuals. 

Our Intensive Physiotherapy Program is similar to NAPA in several ways:

• Similar techniques (i.e. physiotherapy, DMI, neuroplasticity, etc.)
• Similar equipment (i.e. spider cage, vibration plate, compression garments/splints)
• Offer a high frequency of physiotherapy in a short amount of time. This is how we both create 'intensity' as defined in the literature. 

Our Intensive Physiotherapy Program is different to NAPA in several ways:

• We exclusively offer and focus on physiotherapy, this includes DMI. 
• We offer 1-2 hour sessions daily for 2 weeks. We also offer more weeks consecutively or with a break as appropriate. Our intention is to enhance your child's engagement and give your child time to consolidate learning and recover. 
• If your child is an ongoing client, we are involved in your child's care all year round. Paediatric Physiotherapy Centre and Moore Intensive Therapy Studio enhance one another to ensure holistic on-going physiotherapy. Before, during and after an Intensive, we will collaborate with your on-going physiotherapist and multidisciplinary team.
• We use community task-specific activities to improve strength, balance and range of motion (i.e. bike, monkey bars, flying fox, rock climbing, skateboarding, trampoline, rope ladder). 

A session is 60 minutes long. 50 minutes are used for treatment. The last 10 minutes are used for the physiotherapist to disinfect the room as a required by the government and complete your child's clinical notes. 

If your child is completing two sessions in a row, your child will have a 10 minute break after one hour and again the last 10 minutes of the two hours will be for the physiotherapist to clean and write clinical notes. 

Intensive's begin fortnightly at the start of the week. Intensives run year round from Monday to Friday. Call us to find out the exact dates as details change throughout the year.

Generally an Intensive is charged in a block of 10 one-hour sessions (i.e. daily 1 hour sessions for 2 weeks Monday to Friday).

Yes, it is your responsibility to supervise the other children you bring. They are not to use the equipment in the gym. We also have a waiting room outside the gym area. 

Intensives are typically at Moore Intensive Therapy Studio, 9 Moore St, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039. We will notify you if you need to attend Paediatric Physiotherapy Centre for a session due to special circumstances. 2. Back of the clinic on Newton Parade Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm for 2 hours.
